MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali prime minister, Mohamed Hussein Roble is today visiting Balidogle airbases in the outskirts of Somali capital.
According sources, the prime Minister is expected to hold talks with US commanders in the base which lies about 100km (60 miles) west of the capital Mogadishu.
The base in Lower Shabelle region houses US special forces, Somali special forces and Ugandan peacekeepers.
It is also reportedly used as a launch site for US drones as well as being a training centre.
The trip of Roble comes amid AFRICOM winds up its stay in Somalia.
The outgoing Trump administration set January 20 as the final exit day for US troops in Somalia.
Pentagon said the troops will be stationed in neighbouring countries including Kenya and Djibouti.
