MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Prime minister, Hassan Ali Kheire is expected to visit Dhusameeb town soon ahead of Galmudug elections.
The premier’s tour is to be part of Central government and Ahlu-Sunna deal implementation and will hold talks with the leaders of the Sufi-sect in the town.
According to sources privy to the development, an advance team will today reach the town to pave the way for the visit of a delegation led by the prime minister.
Early this month, the government inked deal with Ahlu-Sunna to fix election process in Galmudug state.
Interior Ministry said the government agreed to the allocation of 20 members out of a total of 89 regional parliament members to be selected before the end of the year.

“The Federal Government and ASWJ have jointly agreed that 20 members of the regional assembly will be allocated to the group out of the current 89 members,” the statement by the ministry reads in part.
Previously, the Federal Government and the Sufi group were at loggerheads at the number of regional MPs to set aside for the group.
The deal was welcomed by Somalia’s international partners and appreciated the tireless efforts made by the Federal Government of Somalia, ASWJ leadership and other concerned stakeholders to resolve points of difference through dialogue and compromise.
They said they believe this was an important step towards establishing a unified and stable administration in Galmudug, which will be essential in order to advance Somalia’s national priorities for 2020.
The partners encouraged all concerned to continue their efforts and underscore the importance of an inclusive process that reflects the aspirations of all the communities of Galmudug, and that results in a fair, credible and transparent outcome that is acceptable to the people of Galmudug.
