MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – Somali aviation officials have confirmed that all passengers and crew members aboard the Air Djibouti are safe and sound following an accident in Garowe.
The passenger plane crash-landed at General Mohamed Abshir airport in Puntland state headquarter on Wednesday morning.
Djibouti’s national carrier suffered a technical before resorting to a belly landing.
It was not immediately clear what exactly caused the mechanical hitch that seemed to be related to landing gear and wheels.
On Monday, A Fokker 50 passenger plane carrying the leaders of Hirshabelle led by the speaker of the regional parliament to Beledweyne diverted landing to Mogadishu after one of its engines failed.
In July an aircraft A Kenya registered airline from Djibouti carrying humanitarian aid crash-landed before bursting into flames at Ugas Khalif airport in Beledweyne in Hiran region.
In May, Ethiopia admitted that it shot down a Kenyan plane carrying humanitarian and medical supplies in the Bay region of Somalia, killing all six people on board.
Authorities said they shot down the plane due to a lack of communication and unusual flight patterns.
