MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Southwest state Minister security, Hussein Elay has today appeared before state’s parliamentary committee on security.
The minister has briefed the committee on the measure put in place to secure the upcoming presidential election.
The committee also discussed with him on wide range issues including the security proposed plans.
After the conclusion of the meeting, the minister and the committee jointly issued a statement calling for security cooperation between the ministry and the state’s security forces.
They jointly asked for scaling up security operations while ensuring the activities of the security agencies are well coordinated.
Southwest state is expected to hold its presidential election on 19th of this year.
The winner of the election will replace the state’s former president Sharif Hassan who resigned two months ago.
