BELEDWEYNE (Halbeeg News) – At least one has been killed and three others sustained injuries after a hand grenade was hurled at a restaurant in Beledweyne town of central Somalia.
According to witnesses, unidentified person has attacked the restaurant in Livestock Market of Beledweyne town.
The blast killed a woman and left behind three injuries who were taken the hospital treatment.
The motive of the attack is yet unclear but al-Shabaab had number of times attempted to attack AU base near the restaurant.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack, but it has the hallmarks of al-Shabaab.
Al-Shabaab carries out deadly attacks on SNA and AMISOM forces in central and southern Somalia.
The group which controlled large swath of territories in southern including the capital Mogadishu lost many towns to Somali military backed by African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
