MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – Former Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud has confirmed a meeting with the influential Intelligence Chief Fahad Yassin on Tuesday.
The former head of state ruled out that politics was not on the agenda during the meeting at his residence in the capital Mogadishu on Monday night.
“Our meeting at my residence was not apolitical. We did not discuss any political agenda during our discussions. I am a Somali elder and everyone is welcome at my house. It was a courtesy call.” Hassan Sheikh Mohamud tweeted.
The get-together of two former allies before politics comes at a time when President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo is involved in extensive consultations regarding the appointment of a prime minister following the ouster of Hassan Ali Khaire by the parliament last month via a motion of no confidence.
