DHUSAMAREB (Halbeeg News) – Head of National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) in Dhusamareeb alongside his bodyguards were today killed after their vehicle hit by landmine in El-Dhere village.
Sources in Galmudug said Abdirashid Nur Qoje was returning from operation when his car ran over EID suspected to have been planted on the roadside by al-Shabaab.
The NISA boss and his bodyguards died on spot as the explosion extensively damaged the vehicle.
meanwhile six other soldiers were killed after suspected al-Shabaab fighters ambushed Somali forces who were heading to El-Dhere village to collect the bodies.
Several others soldiers were injured in the attack. Eldhere area located some 30 kilometres south of Dhusamareb town.
Al-Shabaab has recently intensified attacks in Galmudug state. For the last five days, al-Shabaab fired over ten motor shells in Dhusamareb town which was hosting forum for leaders.
In a manhunt, Somalia’s Haram-Ad forces killed over 13 al-Shabaab fighters who were said to have attacked Dhusamareb town with motor shells.
