MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The new Somali water and energy minister, Fowziyo Mohamed Sheikh, has pledged to reform the ministry.
Speaking during hand over ceremony held in Mogadishu on Sunday, minister Fowziyo appealed for close cooperation from staff in order to deliberate her new role diligently.
She promised to improve the operations of the important government office by implementing the ongoing projects initiated by her predecessor.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Mahdi Mohamed Guled who was the chief guest at the ceremony stressed the importance of the energy and water docket in the reconstruction process of the country while urging the new minister to focus on the new office.
Fowziya Mohamed Sheikh was appointed as water and energy after the resignation of the Abdiaziz Lafta Gareen due to his election as president of southwest state on December last year.
Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre mini cabinet reshuffle before he left the country has affected constitutional affairs, labour and water, and energy.
