13 new Cabinet members were sworn in on Saturday barely two days after Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheire appointed them.
The swearing-in ceremony held at Villa Hargeisa was attended by the speaker of Lower House Speaker, Mohamed Mursal Abdirahman, First and second deputy speakers Abdiweli Sheikh Ibrahim Muddy and Mahad Abdalla Awad respectively, lawmakers as well as ministers and government officials.
The swearing-in was conducted by the Chief Justice, Ibrahim Idle Suleman.

After they were sworn in, Lower Speaker, Mohamed Mursal Abdirahman congratulated the new ministers, deputies and state ministers.
Abdirahman urged them to be guardians of public resources and serve the country in best.

“This might also be the appropriate time to say that should you, at any time, feel the weight is too much and take the responsibility to serve your people and country,” said Abdirahman.
He added that citizens also want a government that is “easily accessible, responsive and committed to excellence.”
