The newly appointed chief of the National Intelligence and Security Agency, Hussein Osman Hussein has on Wednesday resumed office during a handover ceremony in held Mogadishu.
Somali security minister, Mohamed Abukar Islow, officials from the spy agency have attended the event.
Hussein, a former deputy health minister took the office from Abdikadir Mohamed Nur who has been serving as an acting since last October.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, the director pledged new shake up and changes.
The security minister who spoke at the event has urged the security officials to work with the head of Intelligence.
Hussein together with chiefs of police and custodial corps were appointed on Monday by Somali cabinet during a special meeting.
The positions of heads of police and NISA have been vacant since last October when Somali government fired the commanders, Abdihakim Dahir Saed and Abdullahi Mohamed Ali Sanbalolshe respectively.
