BELEDWEYNE ( HALBEEG NEWS)- The Hirshabelle state interior minister Mohamed Ali Adle has appointed Mohamed Abdulkadir Mohamed as the new deputy mayor for Beledweyne in charge of flood control mechanisms.
The minister said the decision was reached following consultation with various stakeholders and community in the region.
A letter from office of the minister directed various agencies including the security to closely coordinate with the new deputy mayor in order for the new official to perform his duties diligently.
” I call upon members of the regional security and the residents to closely cooperate with the new deputy mayor to perform his new role.”
The appointment comes few weeks after the governor of Hiran Al Jeyte Osman appointed Nadar Tabah Moalim as the mayor agricultural city which is impacted by recurring floods from river Shabelle.
The Italian government approved USD six million to help mitigate the effects of floods in Hiran region which is most affected.
