MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Hodan district commissioner was last night killed after his car was sprayed with bullets in Somali capital.
Somali information ministry confirmed the death of Abdihakim Dhagajun who returned from Turkey on Wednesday but no further detail was disclosed.
“Hodan District Commissioner Abdihakim Dhagajun was killed in Mogadishu. There are no details on how the district commissioner was killed. Dhagajun recovered from a landmine blast injuries,” said Ismail Mukhtar, the spokesperson for the minister.
Late last year, Dhagajun was taken to Turkey for treatment after he was injured in last November IED blast at 21st Oct street.
The killing was condemned by Mogadishu mayor, Mohamud Filish who asked the security agencies immediately investigate the death of officials.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the attack but unconfirmed reports claimed that the commissioner was in a shootout between his guards and police officers at a checkpoint.
