MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Mogadishu will host a conference on intellectual security and combating extremist from tomorrow on Monday.
The two-day forum is organized by the Federal government of Somalia in collaboration with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
Representatives from 57 members of the Islamic countries are expected to attend the significant forum.
According to organizers among other representative include 30 experts on the topic, 12 Islamic religious scholars and various Somali intellectuals.
The gathering will focus on intellectual security and combating violent extremism among the members.
The conference will be the second international forum to be converged in Mogadishu by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in less than one year.
Somalia hosted the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Ministerial contact group meeting in October last year for the first time.
Heads of governments from the member states attended by conferenced presided over by the Somali prime minister, Hassan Ali Kheyre.
They called upon the UN Security Council to lift the arms embargo on Somalia.
