MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Mogadishu mayor, Omar Mohamud Mohamed has called for war to annihilate al-Shabaab barely hours after group blew up popular restaurant in the city.
Speaking to the media, the mayor said the country needs to organise joint operations to eradicate al-Shabaab and their ideologies.
He urged public to part in efforts to defeat the group.
“In order our people to live peacefully and prosperity, we ought to unite in the fight against the so-called terrorists who stand to shed Muslim blood,” he said.
The remarks of the mayor come just hours after a suicide attack targeted a busy restaurant in the country’s capital.
The evening attack killed seven people and several others were wounded.
