Somali Military high court on Monday upheld a death sentence on Col. Abdinasir Hosh who was convicted of killing his senior, admiral Saed Adan Yussuf Marino.
Hosh was sentenced to death penalty by a military court this year, which he subsequently appealed from the ruling.
Following the conclusion of testimonials, and evidence brought during the hearing of Hosh’s appeal, the Court of Appeal backed an earlier ruling which found Hosh guilty of killing late Marino deliberately.
According to today’s Court statement, Hosh pulled out his service pistol and shot the late Marini on the head.
Admiral Saed Adan Yussuf Marino succumbed to the injuries he sustained from bullets.
“Having heard from the lawyer of appellant and the military prosecutors, the court will hereby uphold and agree with the ruling of the First Degree Military Court,” reads the statement by the Appeal Court.
In February this year, Hosh was sentenced to face the firing squad for the murder of Marino following heated dispute in Mogadishu Port on 18th January this year.
He was also stripped of his ranks of the Somali National Army (SNA).
