Mogadishu (Halbeeg News) – The Puntland Armed Forces Court on Sunday sentenced ten members of Al-Shabaab to death after they were found guilty of carrying out a series of bombings and assassinations in Puntland state, and for being members of the Al-Shabaab network.
The ten men were found to be members of Al-Shabaab who carried out killings in Galka’ayo town of Mudug region.
Among the convicts are Adde Abdullahi Mohamed Ilmi, Abdiqani Saleeman Jama Saylor, Hassan Jama Mohamed, Mohamed Ali Ahmae Muse and Farhan Faisal Salad Hirsi.
Others include Abdullahi Faisal Hussein, Barkhad Awil Hirsi Nur, Liban Aden Muse, Abdiqani Farhan Abdullahi and Abdirahman Awil Mohamed.
The court said the men admitted that they were members of Al-Shabab, but some of them claimed they had not taken part in the attacks. The men were captured by security forces hours after the attack.
The court said the court had given him a month to appeal the verdict.
