MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali military court has today executed two soldiers for the murder of people in Mogadishu.
According to the court statement, Abdishakur Ahmed Mohamud Abdi Jamal Abdullahi, both members of the police force were found guilty of killing a police officer and a civilian.
The court said Mohamud was convicted of deliberately killing a police officer identified as Hassan Mohamed Shire.
The convict was found guilty of Abdihakin Mohamud, a civilian. The court said Abdullahi killed the victim after dispute over a certain amount of bribe.
Both soldiers were executed by a firing squad at a field Police Academy in Mogadishu.
The country’s military court has been carrying out death penalties for years despite pressure to stop from international partners.
