Mogadishu (Halbeeg News – The Supreme Court in Mogadishu Saturday sentenced a man to death for the murder a district commissioner in Marerey district, Middle Shabelle region.
The Somali Supreme Court in Mogadishu delivered the verdict after finding Dadir Ali Osman guilty in the murder of Hussein Hassan Molgale, the commissioner of Marerey district on March 30, 2024.
Dadir admitted to killing the commissioner, citing revenge as the motive after Molgale had allegedly killed his brother.
At the same time, the Supreme Court acquitted Dadir’s brother, Abdullah Ali Osman, after finding him not guilty in the crime.
The decision follows a previous ruling by the Military court which had heard the case earlier in June.
The case had progressed through various stages in the legal system, culminating in today’s verdicts.
