The authority of Kismayo airport in Jubbaland regional state has directed the travel agencies and airline companies operating in the town to register with authority.
In statement by Kismayo Airport manager, Abdullahi Adan Mohamud, the authority said they would carry out inspection to confirm the valid registration of the agencies operating across the region.
The companies and agencies have been asked to strictly follow strictly the flight rules in a move to minimize inconvenience.
“The passengers who have been cleared by the security agencies would not be ransacked when they aboard the plane, the Passengers cannot be kept at the departure lounge for more than three hours,” read the statement.
The authorities also said they will inspect the airworthy of the planes operating the region.
In the recent days there had been complains submitted to the airport officials by the passengers following flight delays.
The move comes on the heel of Somali Ministry for civil aviation’s directive regarding the flight waiting time.
