MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News)- Kenyan police have arrested 24 Ethiopians and Eritreans in anti-immigrant operations at Merti area in Isiolo County.
The officials from the country’s detective agency said the immigrants were trying to sneaked into Nairobi.
According to Merti Deputy County Commissioner Julius Maiyo, they were arrested following a tip-off from local residents.
The deputy county commissioner said the vehicle that the suspects were using had broken down on the road when they were nabbed.
The 24 foreigners were detained at Merti Police Station and are set to be arraigned on Monday.
The driver of the vehicle managed to escape the arrest but a hunt for him is underway.
