NAIROBI ( Halbeeg News)-A Kenyan court has acquitted a Somali woman after she was found of not involving in Dusit D2 attack in Nairobi mid last month.
Resident magistrate Nelly Kariuki released Habiba Hunshur along with two other suspects, Abdul Kibiringi, and James Mwai in Nyeri town, central Kenya.
The woman was arrested days after al-Shabaab suspects stormed complex building in Nairobi.
During the prosecution, the officer in charge of crime at Nyeri police station Cyprian Gitonga told the court that investigations traced no offense.
“The investigation was conducted in liaison with the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit,” he said.
Police had on Monday requested to hold the suspects for more time to allow the conclusion of investigations.
According to The Star, an online portal based in Nairobi, Constable Newton Mwangi, from the ATPU, said investigators wanted to obtain the suspects’ call log data from telecommunication network providers. The court granted police five days.
The three were arrested on Friday last week. Mwangi said initial investigations showed the suspects had a link with others who are detained over the January 15 terror attack in Nairobi.
“Police are waiting for call log data to finalize investigations,” he added
