NAIROBI ( Halbeeg News) – Kenya intelligence agencies said three Kenyan nationals had been allegedly executed by al-Shabaab in Somalia.
The intelligence report on Saturday indicated that the three who joined the group some years back were executed last Wednesday in a rural area on the outskirt of Barawe town.
According to Standard, a newspaper based in Nairobi, the victims were accused of spying for African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) and US military.
Among those executed was said to be a middle-aged woman from neighboring Kenya.
The Kenyan victims were said to have joined the group from Mombasa and Wajir of Northeastern Kenya.
The group also executed two local fighters after they were allegedly found of spying for foreign forces.
According to the report, all the victims were executed by a firing squad in public after they were reportedly found guilty.
It is not the first time al-Shabaab has executed its members suspected of spying, most of them foreigners.
Last year alone, al-Qaeda linked terror group executed over 8 foreign fighters from Kenya and Tanzania.
