NAIROBI (Halbeeg News) – Kenya military has today raided al-Shabaab training base in Kenya’s coastal region.
According to the local media, the military destroyed the base and recovered weapons. The dawn attack took place in a terrorist group camp in the vast Boni Forest, Lamu County.
The forces killed four terrorists and recovered communication equipment and weapons that were being used by the terror group to wreak havoc in the Lamu area that borders Somalia. The military also arrested one terrorist and are holding him for interrogation.
The attack comes barely a week after al-Shabaab fighters stormed Gumurey village in Wajir town. During the attack, the group captured the chief of the village and made away with him.
Four days ago, the torso of chief was found in an area near Qorfa-harar town.
Al-Shabaab has been carrying out attacks in since 2011 when Kenya sent its troops to Somalia to fight the group. The group vowed to wage attack in Kenya’ soil till Kenya military withdraws from Somalia.
