MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Several people are feared to have died after a Kenyan warplane bombed two towns in southern Somalia.
The bombing by the Kenyan plane occurred Saturday night in two villages in the Gedo area in Somalia’s semi-autonomous state of Jubbaland.
Residents in Garbaharey told the media that they heard heavy artillery shelling in the area in the middle of the night.
The number of casualties has not yet been confirmed. There is no word yet from the local administration regarding the Kenyan airstrikes in the Gedo region in southern Somalia.
The bombing comes days after suspected Kenya’s military planes destroyed Hormuud telecomication masts in Sakow town.
The strikes also reportedly targeted residential areas and shops, destroying homes and vehicles as shown in images circulated on social media.
