KISMAYO (Halbeeg)- Jubbaland State leader, Ahmed Mohamed Madobe has fired four ministers on Wednesday.
Minister for Health, Ali Haji Nur, Minister for Public Works, Shukri Weyrah Kariye, Minister for Environment, Ahmed Abdi Hafid and Minister for livestock and Mohamed Nuur Bule were all sent packing.
No reason was given for the reshuffle, but it came ahead of presidential elections.
They were replaced with individuals from their respective clans.
Ismail Ahmed Garas was named as new Minister for Public Works, Mursal Mohamed Khalif as the Health Minister, Eydid Sulaiman Hashi was appointed as Minister for Environment and Mohamed Hassan Mohamed was appointed to head the Livestock docket.
Madobe also appointed seven other individuals for different portfolios.
Mohamed Omar Yussuf who served the head of Ministry for Natural Resources was moved to Ministry for Justice.
Adan Ibrahim Aw-Hirsi will be replacing Osman Hussein Haji who has been leading Ministry for Planning.
The immediate Former Jubbaland Minister for Information will be the state’s new Trade Minister as his predecessor, Sultan Jam’a Farid Sulaiman was relieved of his duties.
Osman Hussein Feyruus former planning will be moving to lead Ministry for Sport.
