KISMAYO(Halbeeg News)- Jubbaland forces are holding a young girl from Goobweyn village who allegedly poisoned her grandmother.
The state’s authorities have detained the suspect after they dispatched officers to the area.
According to the locals in Gobweyn town on the outskirt of Kismayu, the girl who had a dispute with her grandmother bought herbicide and added it to the food and served the old woman.
The grandmother reportedly died after fighting for her life for about an hour.
Omar Abdullahi Mohamed, a resident of Goobweyn village told Jubbaland TV that the young lady who was identified as Naimo Bashir poisoned her grandmother, Dahabo Mohamed last night.
“It is very painful incident, the girl named as Naimo had poisoned her grandmother last night after they had a dispute, the grandmother died an hour later,” Mr. Mohamed.
The incident comes barely three months after a man killed his 80-year-old father, Abdullahi Sharif Kalar with a knife at his house in Bula-Gadud area near Kismayu over undisclosed circumstances.
The command of Jubbaland Police said an investigation into the tragic incident is ongoing and the killer was held at a police station in Kismayo.
