Council of Interstate Cooperation meeting between the leaders of regional states has kicked off in Baidoa town on Monday.
The conference convened the leaders from Jubbaland, Puntland, Galmudug and Southwest states.
The leaders are expected to discuss on political developments, security and resources sharing and inter-state cooperation.
According to reliable sources, the regional leaders will focus on the diplomatic raw between Somalia and the United Arab Emirates.
The ties between Somalia and the United Arab Emirates has soared following what Somalia termed a blatant infringement of Somalia’s sovereignty by Emirati authorities after they inked backdoor deals with Somaliland and Puntland states.
The Council of Inter-State Cooperation which was formed last year in Kismayo has merged the leaders of the regional states.
