MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – At least two people have been killed and several others injured on Saturday after a deadly blast hit a busy market in Bula-burte district in Somalia’s central Hiran region.
Witnesses told the media that an EID buried in the of the market exploded as people gathered in a busy livestock market in the area, causing the casualties.
They said that they were shocked by the magnitude of the blast.
“The explosion killed two traders, I cannot exactly say the number of those who sustained injuries,” said a local trader at the market.
Injuries were taken to the main hospital in town for treatment.
No group has yet claimed the responsibility for the attack though al-Shabaab previously carried out IED attacks at markets and hotels across Somalia.
