MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – At least four people including a local official, were killed this morning after a car they were traveling in, ran over an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Mogadishu.
Initial reports confirmed that an IED suspected to have been planted on roadside destroyed the vehicle belonging to one of local administrators of Garasbaley locality in Dharkenley district.
Assistant of Division officer of Garasbaley, Ali Mohamed Moalim, Garasbaley youth chairperson, Abdirashid Dubbad and two bodyguards were killed in the blast.
The authorities have not commented on the incident.
No group has claimed the responsibility for the the attack but it has the hallmarks of al-Shabaab assassination operations.
