RIYADH ( Halbeeg News) – Three women and two children were among 26 people injured in a projectile attack on arrivals hall at Abha International Airport in Saudi Arabia by the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels early Wednesday morning.
Col. Turki Al-Malki, the spokesman of the Coalition, said eight people with moderate injuries were transferred to a hospital while 18 were treated at the site for minor injuries.
The airport lounge was also damaged, he said.
Among the injured women, one each is from Yemen, India and Saudi Arabia. The two injured children are Saudis.
Malki said military and security forces were working to determine the type of projectile used in the attack.
The Houthi militias claimed through their media full responsibility for the attack saying a cruise missile was used.
This attack also proves Houthis acquisition of new special weapons continuous threat to the Saudi state.
A coalition spokesman said they will take urgent and timely measures to deter the similar attacks while ensuring the protection of civilians.
Col. Turki Al Malki said terrorist operatives responsible for the planning and execution of the attack will be held accountable in accordance with international humanitarian law and its customary rules.
