MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Hormuud Telcom Foundation has donated USD 100,000 to Somali orphans on Sunday.
Each of a thousand orphans selected from various will receive USD 100 as Ramadan and Eid gift for their families.
Speaking during the launch of the program at Darussalam neighborhood in the Somali capital, Hormuud Foundation Chair, Abdullahi Noor Osman said it is the social responsibility of each and every citizen to help the less fortunate in the community especially orphans.
The donation follows days after the similar contribution was made by Somalia’s leading telecommunication company to inmates at Mogadishu central prison and patients at Madina General Hospital.
Leading Somali private companies embark on donation exercise during sacred months in the Islamic calendar such as Ramadan and Eid festival.
