BELEDWEYN (Halbeeg News) – The leader of Hirshabelle state of Somalia, Mohamed Abdi Warre has dismissed the governor of Hiiran region, Yusuf Ahmed Hagar on Saturday.
A decree from Hirshabelle leader sent to newsrooms has termed the reason for the dismissal as “the need for change and devolution of governance in the region.”
“Putting into consideration for the need for visionary and development-oriented leadership in Hiiran, I relieved his duties from Yusuf Ahmed Hagar and appointed the new governor.” President Warre said in the decree.
Warre has named Ali Mohamed Arale who once contested for regional leadership as the new immediate replacement.
The move comes just a day after Yusuf Ahmed alias Dabaged accused president Abdi Warre of his intention of mismanaging revenues collected from the Hiiran region.
Dabaged served as the governor of Hiiran region more than three times before.
