High-Level Security meeting on Somalia will be opening today Brussels, thecapital city of Belgium and EU Headquarters.
The conference will be attended by officials from Somalia, AU, UN, security experts as well as international donors.
Somali Prime Minister, Hassan Ali Kheire who arrived in Brussels on Tuesday is scheduled to Pilot projects within the framework of the Somalia Transition Plan.
Kheire will address the conference on Somalia’s progress towards the realization of the plan and the country’s army rebuilding process.
The participants of the conference are expected to get means to materialize the Somalia Transition Plan and the challenges barring the implementation of the plan.
The conference is a follow up to last week’s meeting held in Mogadishu, which focused on the formation and equipping of Somali forces ahead of the withdrawal of African Union Mission troops in Somalia.
The Somali government has been carrying out efforts to rebuild strong forces amid its forces backed AMISOM are confronting Al-Shabab fighters in parts of the country.
AMISOM troops who were drawn from five countries namely Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Burundi were deployed in Somalia to help the government in peace restoration process.
