JOWHAR (Halbeeg News) – At least two soldiers were killed and three others injured after hand grenade was hurled last night at security checkpoint in Jowhar town in Lower Shabelle region.
According to reports, suspected al-Shabaab operatives have attacked the checkpoint before fleeing from the scene.
Witnesses say the assailants made away with weapons of the victims at the checkpoint.
The authorities in the town have not yet commented on the attack.
Al- Shabaab claimed the responsibility for the attack.
