The security forces of federal government of Somalia in a security operation shot dead two men armed with pistols in Dharkenley of Banadir region on Friday.
Witnesses who declined to be named told the media that the forces ordered the armed men to lay down their arms but defied the order before they were shot.
According to the residents in the area, armed criminals usually carry out crimes including robbery in Dharkenley district.
In a similar operation conducted on Wednesday, Mogadishu Stabilization Forces have arrested several army imposters in Mogadishu.
During the operation, the forces nabbed eleven people who were suspected to have been carrying out crimes in Dharkaynley district.
Speaking to the media, Mogadishu Deputy Governor, in charge of security, Mohamed Abdullahi Tulah said the forces arrested the suspects after intensive security in Dharkeynley district.
The official noted that the suspects have been terrorizing the residents in the area.
“The suspects were paraded at Dharkenley Police Station, among the suspects are some individuals who were clad in army uniform,” said Tulah.
The Deputy Governor said the suspects will be arraigned in court after the investigations into their cases concluded.
