Galmudug deputy President, Mohamed Hashi Abdi Arabay has on Saturday opened a security meeting in Dhusa-mareeb district, the administrative capital of Galmudug state.
Officials from the ministries of Interior, Security and Finance and members representing the Security Agencies and the governors of Galgaduud and Mudug regions attended the meeting.
The meeting was a follow up of a forum held in Dhusa-mareeb before two months was aimed at assessing the comprehensive approach to the security component of the state.
The Security commanders briefed the deputy President and the participants on the security achievements gained by the forces in the fight against the insurgents and the overall security of the state.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Arabay said Galmudug forces will soon start offensives to fight against Al-Shabab fighters in both regions.
Al-Shabab which controls parts Mudug and Galgaduud regions has been carrying out attacks on Galmudug forces and imposed zakawat on the pastrolist in the regions.
In recent months, dozens of locals took up arms against Al-Shabab leading to a fierce clashes that claimed the lives of ten people from both sides
