MOGADISHU ( HALBEEG NEWS) – The Leader of Gamudug state Ahmed Abdi Kariye Qorqor has reiterated the commitment by his administration in hosting the second meeting between the leadership of the federal government and the federal member states later next week.
The Galmudug leader ruled out the possibility of postponing the crucial forum in Dhusamareb.
While speaking during a meeting with Somali diaspora in Istanbul Turkey where is on a working trip Mr. Qorqor appealed to Somali political stakeholders to avoid comments that can derail the progress made during the previous meeting.
“The meeting which is scheduled for 15 August is aimed to produce concrete decisions and that provide solutions to the challenges facing our country. I am looking forward to welcoming leaders from both the federal government and state administrations in Dhusamareb.” said Mr. Qorqor.
Amid the vacancy of the office of the prime minister following vote of no confidence against the government of Hassan Ali Khaire, the leaders are expected to agree on the model of elections to be conducted in the country before scheduled presidential and parliamentary elections on February next year.
