DHUSAMAREEB (Halbeeg News) – Authorities in Somalia’s Galmudug state has denied accusations by their counterpart of Somali regional state of Ethiopia that Galmudug state forces attacked areas on Ethiopia’s border with Somalia.
Speaking to reporters in Dhusamareeb Tuesday, Galmudug Minister for Information, Abshir Abdi Sheikhow said his region has nothing to do with the tension between the militias and Somali regional state forces.
Sheikhow has denied that there were Galmudug troops who have engaged in with Ethiopian forces in Shilabo district of Qorrahey region.
The Minister who was responding to accusations by Ethiopia’s Somali regional state said that there was no communication between the two authorities regarding this incident.
He also emphasized that they are always ready to mediate between the fraternal clans that are fighting on the border of Ethiopia and Somalia.
According to a statement by the Somali Regional Government on Monday, hundreds of troops with dozens of technical vehicles from Galmudug state killed 12 people in areas on Ethiopia’s border with Somalia.
