At least four government soldiers were killed after Al-shabab fighter carried out attack on a military base in Teed town, almost 30 kilometers North West of Hudur district in Bakool region.
Speaking to VOA Somali service, Hudur district commissioner who is also the mayor of the town confirmed the fighting between the government forces and Al-shabab in Teed town.
“They[ Al-shabab] waged attack on a military base in Teed, a fierce fighting embarked. We lost four soldiers in the fight; they suffered great loss during the fight. Now, our forces are in full control of the area” Moalim said.
He highlighted that the government forces have repulsed Al-shabab attack at the military base in the town.
Al-shabab fighters have not yet given comment on this recent fight with government forces in Teed.
The fighters intensified the attacks and ambushes against government forces since the start of the month of Ramadan.
