Mogadishu, (Halbeeg News) – Four Al-Shabaab sympathizers were sentenced Monday by the Banadir regional court in Mogadishu.
The court found the four guilty of aiding the operations of the terror group by aiding in collecting funds to finance the group’s operations through extortion.
In his ruling, the court’s judge Salah Ali Mohamud sentenced Hassan Osman Aden to 13 years in prison and ordered him to pay 20,000 dollars.
Three women, Fadumo Hassan Osman, Amina Abudllahi Abbabur and Hasna Aweys Khasim were sentenced to serve two years jail terms each.
The ruling underscores the Somali Government’s committment to fighting against the terrorist militant group of Al-Shabaab and restore peace and normalcy in all parts of the country.
