GAROWE (Halbeeg News) – A foreign female doctor is fighting for her life at a hospital after she allegedly jumped off a high building in Garowe town of northeastern Somalia.
Dr Nadia Omar, a gynecologist who had been working in Garowe for years was on Wednesday admitted to a hospital with several injuries after she reportedly jumped from the top of a three-floor building.
It is not yet clear what forced the doctor who hails Ethiopia’s Amhara regional state to jump off the building though reports claimed that she had been recently dismissed from her job at a certain hospital in the town.
Paramedics sources said she sustained several broken bones and also suffered a burst fracture.
Somali police in Puntland state have launched an investigation into the case of the doctor with a preliminary report suggesting that Nadia was depressed.
