MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Somali Foreign Minister Ahmed Awad was sacked less than 24 hours after he rescinded previous statement on Somalia’s stance about crisis in Ethiopia.
Information Minister Osman Dube said prime minister Mohamed Hussein Roble appointed new individual for the post.
Awad had been replaced with Mohamed Abdirizak Abukar, according to the information minister spoke to the state owned TV.
The immediate former minister was subsequently appointed an ambassador but he turned down the offer.
Wednesday evening, Awad rubbished statement previously appeared on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Twitter handle, saying it was not official statement.
