MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Finland government has hailed the military operations against al-Shabaab fighters in central and southern Somalia, pledging to support both the government and the Somali people.
According to a statement by OPM, Somali Prime Minister, Hamza Abdi Barre has held talks with the Ambassador of Finland to Somalia, Pirkka Tapiola in Mogadishu.
They discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to further strengthen their longstanding development cooperation.
Barre thanked Finland for the unwavering support it provides towards Somalia’s state-building, human development, and stabilization.
On his side, Tapiola commended the Somali government’s efforts to rid the country of Kharijite terrorism, while reaffirming Finland’s continued support to the Somali government and people.
