MOGADISHU ( Halbeeg News) – Somalia’s Finance Minister Abdulrahman Duale Beyle paid a visit to army biometric registration centre in Mogadishu on Friday.
He said the process which is jointly spearheaded by the office of the prime minister and the ministry of finance is part of reforms aimed at the security sector in the country.
“Officials from the ministry of finance are busy conducting registration for Somali police force members, “the minister said. “The reforms at the security sector are key to the future of our country.”
Finance minister toured the registration centres following the complaints by some sections of Somali armed forces over salary row.
Somali Prime Minister Hassan Ali Kheyre has since called upon those who haven’t received their salaries to register at the nearest centres to speed up the process of their payment.
