MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – Unknown gunmen shot dead female university student in Mogadishu on Friday, witnesses said.
Two young men armed with pistols shot Amino Hussein Hassan inside her university classroom, several times before fleeing, witnesses said.
The incident took place at the Campus of University of Somalia (UNISO) in Bar-Ubah neighbourhood in Warta-Nabada District.
The victim was reportedly a Sharia and Law student.
Ms. Hassan becomes the second female student to be killed in the capital this week.
18th this month, nine-year-old pupil, Deka Dahir died after bullets hit her school bus in Mogadishu.
Somali government soldiers reportedly opened fire in an apparent attempt to clear the road for their vehicle.
The nine-year-old was buried on Thursday following her death on Tuesday.
Her father has demanded justice from the government.
“It was shocking to see the dead body of my daughter. I am helpless and need justice for my daughter,” Mr. Dahir Moalim Ali told Amnesty.
