NAIROBI (Halbeeg News) – The family of a Somali American businessmen whose body was found at Kerugoya level 5 Hospital in Kirinyaga County on Saturday, called for justice.
Bashir Mohamed Mohamud, who went missing last Thursday, has been found in Mwea, Kirinyaga County, according to Family Lawyer Charles Madowo.
“It is with heavy hearts that the family of Bashir Mohamed Mohamud informs you that the body of Bashir was found earlier today at Kerugoya level 5 hospital,” the statement said in part.
The family vowed not to rest until those responsible for Mr Bashir’s death are brought to book.
“As the family processes this tragic news and plan for his burial, they request that they be accorded privacy,” the statement said.
The 35-year-old structural engineer and proprietor of Infinity Developers, headquartered in Nairobi, went missing after leaving Miale Lounge in Lavington, Nairobi, where he had gone for a meeting and Idd celebrations.
New CCTV footage from the lounge shows that a few seconds down the road after guards at the facility’s gate bid him bye, the seemingly obstructed black Range Rover caused a traffic snarl-up on the road he took.
Curious pedestrians are seen looking at what could be a commotion near Bashir’s car.
There was a traffic snarl-up on the left lane and no vehicles are seen moving from the right side, a clear indication that a vehicle had blocked the road.
Reports indicate that Bashir had tried to call his wife but the call was interrupted and his phone was turned off soon after.
