MOGADISHU (Halbeeg News) – The Deputy Chief of Somalia’s National Intelligence and Security (NISA) has been stripped of his military ranks following recommendations from NISA Chief.
In a statement, Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo demoted the ranks from Abdalla Abdalla Mohamed who has been serving as deputy NISA Chief until when he was dismissed over violating the internal regulations of the agency.
Mr. Mohamed has also forced out of the agency and should no longer be a member of the country’s armed forces.
“The President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mohamed Abdullahi Farmajo has demoted all the ranks and dismissed Abdalla Abdalla Mohamed after recommendations from the Director General of the National Security and Intelligence Agency,” the statement reads.
Last week, NISA announced that it was removing Mr. Mohamed from the membership of the agency after impeaching the agency’s regulations.
Mr. Mohamed in an interview with VOA Somali last Month said Al-Shabaab had infiltrated the agency’s operations.
He also accused the heads of the Spy Agency of not informing him of his sacking and the reason for the dismissal.
