Ethiopian Prime Minister, Dr. Abiye Ahmed has appointed 29 cabinet ministers two weeks after he was sworn in.
The Prime Minister has included ten new ministries in his lineup of cabinet.
Dr. Ahmed Who appeared before the country’s parliament for the first time since he was sworn in, has tabled his proposed list of Ethiopia’s cabinet members after he carried out shake up.
In cooperation with Ethiopia’s regional governments, the Prime Minister changed some portfolios of the previous government.
Following deliberations with the Premier, Oromia regional government reshuffled some of its representatives in the Federal cabinet.
The state reportedly nominated two federal ministers to positions in the regional government.
According to African New, the minister of Public Enterprise, Girma Amente and the minister of Government Communications Affairs Office were appointed to head the Oromia Urban Development & Housing Bureau and Oromia Communications Affairs Office respectively.
Abiy is working to establish democratic reforms that can quell protests that have rocked the Eastern African nation since 2015.
