ADDIS ABABA (Halbeeg News) – Ethiopian police have detained 200 people in connection with violence on the outskirts of the capital on Saturday that left 23 dead, state-affiliated Fana Broadcasting said on Monday.
Oromia Police Commissioner, Alemayehu Ejigu who spoke FANA said 23 people were killed in last Saturday’s attacks.
According to FANA, additional security officers were deployed and works were underway to recover looted properties
In a related development, the Ethiopian Human Rights Commission (EHRC) said it has deployed a team to investigate the human rights violations committed in the area.
