ADDIS ABABA ( Halbeeg News) – Ethiopian Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed has received Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi Mohamed Farmaajo in Addis on Sunday.
The two leaders held discussions at the office of the Prime Minister.
In their discussions, they raised bilateral issues of mutual interest, including further strengthening cooperation in regional peace and security.
The two leaders, including the First Lady of Somalia, Zeinab Moalim, later planted seedlings within the compound of the office of the prime minister.
The visit comes as relations between Somalia and her neighbor Kenya soured over maritime border dispute along the shared waters of the Indian Ocean.
The case is already at the chambers of International Court of Justice.
According to experts, Somalia is looking for Ethiopia to mediate the difference over Kenya as a big brother to diffuse the diplomatic tension.
President Farmaajo and Prime Minister Dr. Abiy jointly visited Nairobi on March.
The two leaders met Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta.
